Horse Racing Betting ExchangesBetting exchanges operate on a person-to-person basis. Your bet is laid directly against another user. Once you've signed up you can offer a bet that will then be matched by another user if they think the odds are good. If you win, you keep their stake - if you lose you pay back their stake plus whatever odds you decided. For example, you offer £10 on a horse at 2/5 to lose and your offer is matched. If the horse wins you lose the £10 stake. If it loses, you win the other user's £10 stake plus 2/5 x £10 = £4. Total winnings of £14. A vst number of betting exchanges have emerged over the last few years. It's worth signing up with several of them and scouting them each time you go to bet. Someone else may be offering better odds than you, which will draw other user's bets unless you equal or better their odds.
