NEWMARKET RACECOURSESNewmarket Racecourse is situated on the Suffolk-Cambridgeshire border and was the original home of the Jockey Club. It remains the headquarters of many national and international racing organisations and boasts two totally separate, dynamic and contrasting racecourses where some of the world's best flat racing takes place each year. The two racecourses at Newmarket are the Rowley Mile Racecourse, the true "Course of Champions", boasting world class racing and facilities and the July Course, offering picturesque racing over the summer months. The Rowley Mile hosts racing of the highest calibre during the Spring and Autumn, including two of the five classic races in early May: the 1000 Guineas and the 2000 Guineas. The Autumn highlights are The Cambridgeshire Meeting and Champions' Day. The July Racecourse is home to Newmarket's summer meetings, including the July Meeting, featuring three days of sprint racing. The Rowley Mile course is a wide, galloping, two-mile two-furlong, right-handed Ceasrewitch course, turning into an undulating straight of one-mile two-furlongs. The final furlong of the straight is uphill, requiring good stamina. The July course is two-miles twenty-four yards, beginning with the first mile Ceasrewitch course, turning right into the straight Bunbury Mile. The course is undulating, rising uphill for the final furlong. Newmarket Racecourses Be sure not to miss today's horse racing results. Updated every 15 minutes throughout the day. |
