Understanding form

Form is based on the factors influencing the horse and the race. A few simple questions allow you to undersand the likelyhood of your horse winning or losing:

Past race performance - how has the horse run in previous races? You can use our racing results archive for this!

Ground, surface and distance - the conditions of the race and the track. A horse used to running on soft ground may have difficulty on hard, a short distance specialist running in a long distance race may flag later on.

Race history - a combination of past performance and ground, surface and distance. Again you can check over at the results archive for more information on this! A horse could be an out and out favourite, yet it's only used to running in short races on soft ground. It becomes favourite due to its reputation but this is its first race over medium distance on hard ground.

In reverse horse betting you are not just looking at the form of one favourite likely to lose. You are looking at a favourite likely to lose with at least two other horses with a good chance to win.
